“A Thought on July 20th, 2013”
Barack Obama said this week:
“I’d just ask people to consider, if Trayvon Martin was of age and armed, could he have stood his ground on that sidewalk? And do we actually think that he would have been justified in shooting Mr. Zimmerman, who had followed him in a car, because he felt threatened?”
In the same speech, the US President admitted that a major factor in Black-on-Black crime is the effect (socio-psychological) of America’s violent and biased history and present, while noting how both Blacks and non-Blacks tend to view issues of race, violence, bias, and the stereotypes and issues therein.
We, those who stand firmly pointing out the reality that American society, and, thus, it’s institutions and influences, is racist specifically against Black people…We have been endorsed as currently and historically socially oppressed and disenfranchised by American society-at-large… by the President of the United States of America… who just so happens to be American African… by the President… of a nation bubbling with people who advocate that we in this present moment live in a philosophically ‘post-racial’ nation devoid of the common racism pointed out by Blacks and non-Blacks daily… And, now, the reality of racism in this land is endorsed by the motherfuckin’ PRESIDENT… who is BLACK! Endorsed! …In a nation where folks say that social racism is dead BECAUSE the President is Black.
The world knowing is half the battle.
